Dovid Feinstein
American rabbi (1929–2020)
Dovid Feinstein was a prominent American rabbi and halachic authority, born in 1929. He held a significant position as the rosh yeshiva, or dean, of the Mesivtha Tifereth Jerusalem yeshiva, overseeing both the elementary and high school, as well as the kollel, a higher institution for advanced Talmudic studies. This role was entrusted to him following the passing of his father, Rabbi Moshe Feinstein, in 1986.
Throughout his career, Rabbi Feinstein authored numerous books on various aspects of Judaism, including halacha, Torah, and the Jewish calendar. His writings also extended to the creation of popular Passover Haggadahs, which are central to the observance of the Jewish holiday of Passover. As a respected figure in his field, Rabbi Feinstein's contributions to Jewish scholarship and education were notable, and he continued to serve as a leading authority until his passing in 2020.
