Musa ibn Tubi
Musa ibn Tubi, also known as Moshe ben Toviah, was a Jewish poet from 14th-century Seville. He wrote in Arabic and was known for his poetic works, which reflected his cultural and literary background. As a prominent figure in the literary scene of his time, Musa ibn Tubi made significant contributions to the world of Arabic poetry.
One of Musa ibn Tubi's notable works is the poem Al-Sabʿīnīyah, a didactic piece written in Maghrebi Arabic. This poem was later translated into Hebrew by Solomon da Piera, under the title Batte ha-Nefesh. Both the original poem and its Hebrew translation were published by Hartwig Hirschfeld in the Annual Report of the Montefiore College, providing a lasting record of Musa ibn Tubi's literary achievements.
