Pokrass brothers

The Pokrass brothers were a trio of Soviet composers who worked together, leveraging their sibling bond to create music. The eldest, Samuel Pokrass, was born in 1897, while his brother Dmitry Pokrass followed in 1899. The youngest of the trio, Daniil Pokrass, was born in 1905. As composers, they collaborated on various projects, showcasing their musical talents.

The brothers' lives took different paths, with Samuel emigrating to the United States in the 1920s. In contrast, his brothers remained in the Soviet Union, with Dmitry living until 1978 and Daniil passing away in 1954. Despite the geographical distance between them, the Pokrass brothers left a mark on the music scene, with their collaborative efforts contributing to the Soviet musical landscape. Their individual and collective work reflects their unique bond as siblings and composers.
