Akiva Schaffer

Akiva Schaffer is a multifaceted American filmmaker, comedian, and musician born in 1977. He is best known as a member of the comedy music group The Lonely Island, alongside childhood friends Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone. The group's career began with creating videos for Channel 101, which eventually led to their hiring by Saturday Night Live in 2005. As a writer at SNL, Schaffer played a key role in pioneering the digital short format, contributing to the creation of popular sketches.

Schaffer's work extends beyond his time at SNL, with a notable film directing career that includes titles such as Hot Rod, The Watch, and Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.
