Miklós Rózsa
Macar kökenli Amerikalı besteci (1907-1995)
Miklós Rózsa was a renowned Hungarian-American composer whose career spanned multiple continents and decades. Born in 1907, Rózsa underwent musical training in Germany from 1925 to 1931, laying the foundation for his future endeavors. He subsequently relocated to France, where he was active from 1931 to 1935, before moving to the United Kingdom, where he remained until 1940. In 1940, Rózsa immigrated to the United States, marking the beginning of a long and fruitful period in his life that would last until his passing in 1995.
Throughout his illustrious career, Rózsa composed nearly one hundred film scores, earning him widespread recognition. However, despite his success in the cinematic realm, he remained committed to creating absolute concert music, a genre he held dear. Rózsa's dual pursuits led him to describe his career as a "double life," one that balanced his work in film with his passion for concert music. From 1953 onward, Rózsa also spent considerable time in Italy, further enriching his musical experiences and influences. His legacy as a composer continues to be celebrated, reflecting his remarkable contributions to both the worlds of film and concert music.
